I’ve been incredibly busy lately, and because of that I haven’t been as good about offering Galen the potty.
It’s sometimes hard to find a balance between living life and offering the potty. For me the thing that has always worked the best is timing. Just getting to know about how often my baby goes potty.
This [...]

Today is Galen’s 1st birthday. It seems like just yesterday that I posted announcing he was (finally) here. And now he’s a year old!
Galen was chronicled on Natural Birth and Baby Care from start to finish (in fact, I started this blog because we were TTC him!) I thought I’d share some highlights:
We’re pregnant: [...]

I’m trying to think of a really clever way to start this post, and alas, my mind fails me. Luckily for me it generally doesn’t do that. I’m hard at work on my second website and have ideas for a third dancing in my head. That might just explain why I can’t [...]

I can’t believe that Galen is getting close to a year old. It seems like just yesterday that I was holding a little newborn over the potty. But now I have a little one who crawls everywhere and is pulling up on everything.
Life is busy for us. Since the school year started I’ve [...]

It’s something that people really don’t like to think about – the “what if’s” in life. But in reality, it’s very prudent to consider “what-if’s.” Here in the US it’s National Preparedness Month (September). The government is encouraging everybody to do at least a little bit of preparation for those “what-if’s.”
Now, my husband swears that [...]

I haven’t updated how EC’ing has been going in a couple of months because we’ve been so incredibly busy.
We took a road trip to visit family last month. I offered Galen the potty while we were on the road, though he didn’t use it much. We drove for about 2 days with stops [...]

Birth Day: A Pediatrician Explores the Science, the History, and the Wonder of Childbirth is an interesting and amusing read. Author Mark Sloan has a great writing style – he combines facts, theories, and personal anecdotes in an engaging way. There’s a delightful a touch of humor sprinkled throughout the book. Not only did [...]
